Format
Most of the course time is one-on-one “Hands-on” training under my supervision and guidance. These courses are a lot of fun but are also quite intensive and contain a substantial amount of information.

Training subjects
  1. The basic pressure techniques of Thai acupressure. 2. The locations of 22 therapy lines and 230 acupressure points. 3. The principles of Thai diagnosis for orthopedic conditions. 4. The treatment procedures of 60 Thai Acupressure routines.

Who can participate in the courses?
The courses are open for practitioners and students of manual therapies. Yoga or Pilates Instructors, Personal fitness trainers and advanced Practitioners of Martial Arts can often understand and follow the information and practice. Participants who find working on the floor too difficult may use a massage chair and/or a massage table.

Graduates
Graduates are often ready right from the end of the workshop to use Thai acupressure to treat the orthopedic disorders of colleagues, friends and family members. It’s advisable to “play” with line and point locations and pressure techniques for a few weeks after the course before treating paying clients. The course contains a lot of information and makes an introduction to the treatment routines. One needs some time to assimilate the information, to practice until one is familiar with the points. It’s also OK to give paying clients a special “Beginner Price”. This way you are allowed to play, try, and make errors. Some people repeat the training a 2nd and even a 3rd time to allow assimilation of the entire body of information.

Yoga Massage for Pregnancy, Labor and Postpartum, 5 days, 30 hours.
Training content: Safety of treatment and special consideration in the treatment of prenatal and postnatal clients. How to use Thai General massage techniques to treat pregnant and postpartum clients, and how to treat the 25 most common pregnancy, labor, and postpartum complaints.

Format
Most of the courses time is one-on-one “Hands-on” training but unlike other courses, some time is also given to discussion on the different topics of Prenatal and Postnatal Massage. Whenever it’s possible, we have pregnant women joining us to the second part of the day. If its only one pregnant model, I demonstrate on her the needed modifications of prenatal massage. If we have a few pregnant women, the students get the chance to experiment with the different techniques in question. We also learn how to use the 25 treatment protocols guide that is a part of the book guide.

Training subjects
  1. Safety of treatment and special consideration
in the treatment of prenatal and postnatal clients.
  1. How to use Thai General massage techniques to treat pregnant and postpartum clients,
  2. How to use the Book Guide’s collection of the 25 most common pregnancy, labor and postpartum complaints.

Who can participate in the courses?
This course is open to practitioners and students of manual therapies that are interested in prenatal, labor and postnatal massage. Thai massage and Shiatsu Practitioners will find the techniques and treatment style very familiar. If you are a practitioner of other methods of bodywork, this workshop will be a bit more demanding for you with many new techniques to master. However, every technique that is taught in this course is in the book guide Yoga massage for pregnancy so that after the course, when practicing and repeating what you have learned,  you will have a clear source of reference.  A future Video guide based on the book will farther help you to master the Thai massage techniques.

Graduates
The main objective of this course is to help you to clear doubts that are based on a lack of information or an outdated information. If you have no experience with prenatal massage, you will have the confidence to start treating pregnant women. If you are experienced, you will feel less limited in the variety of techniques that you use. You will feel more confident in treating pregnant women is a natural relaxed manner.  You will need some practice after the course to easily locate the acupressure points before becoming “fluent” in using the treatment protocols.  It’s a good idea to treat pregnant women for no charge or for a discounted fee in the beginning so that you are allowed to play and experiment.

Certification
A School of Thai Acupressure certificate will be awarded to graduate who has successfully completed a training program and pass the exams.

Location
The following is needed in order to run a course: A spacious, empty (no tables or chairs), and a quiet room with mattresses on the floor, clean sheets, and pillows. Massage tables should be available for participants who wish to use them.
